I was very upset to hear the news of Paul's death from Bob Hodgson. Paul was a great friend and working colleague at Crofton School during the 80's and 90's and a massive inspiration to me, and his example gave me the courage to challenge homophobia in the classroom and elsewhere. He was himself extraordinarily courageous in the struggle for gay equality in schools. He was a great influence within the NUT and the LGBT group. Paul brought Crofton school into the forefront of the struggle for the acceptance of gay sexuality in schools. We have lost a tower of strength, a good man, a man who was generous, often amusing very funny and hugely inspirational. There was never a dull moment with him. With solidarity and love to you Paul.
